Shane is a young, third generation of dairy farmers milking 210 cows
alongside his family in Portlaw, Co. Waterford.
Shane is an active member of Macra and one of our GrassRoots
Environmental Ambassadors. He is also a Teagasc-Glanbia Signpost
Future Farmer and through this has been involved in a biodiversity
focused study conducted by Aoife Leader (Teagasc Walsh Scholar and
UCD Agricultural Innovation and Support programme PhD student)
since 2020.
He has a passion for promoting farm sustainability, including the
protection of biodiversity.
